Why i cant send relationship request to my boyfriend's profile in facebook?

whenever i try to send him request it says'profile update failed'..i discussed my problem with one of my male friend and after a discussion i send a relationship request to my male friends profile for just to check that that is there any thing wrong my profile setting..but it shows profile updated succesfully' then i cancelled that request sending and again send request to my boyfriend's profile..but it again shows..'profile update failed'..whats the matter?please help

it seems to be a problem with your boyfriends account, not yours

maybe he already has someone selected for his relationship

it can be following reasons
first :he blocked you if not read others steps
second :he changed his privacy setting in which you cannot make any changes in his profile without his approval.
third: he already put relationship but hiding from you
fourth :check your relationship or somebody put your name in relationship. (delete old one )
