Help with facebook friend request?

So about 2 months ago, I got a friend request from an old friend of mine, but at that time I didn't accept any friend requests then after awhile when I finally started accepting them, her request was gone. She probably canceled it since I didn't do anything. Today I was going through my emails and I found the email where it said she wants to be friends. If I press the "confirm request" in my email will I still be able to add her? Now I know you might say just to send her one, but if I do, she will probably not accept it since I did it to her and she's just that kind of person.

Yeah she will accept, if not and if you really wanna add her, just send her a message explaining why you didn't accept her request.

it wont automatically approve her cancelled request, and it wont send her a friend request either

you would have to send her a friend request yourself now

and if you send her a message before she is your friend, it will go into her other messages folder and she wont even be notified that it's there, so she will probably never even read it
