How do I turn off Facebook App (NOT fb messenger) chat/message mobile/push notifications?

I upgraded from the iPhone 4S to the 5. On my old phone, I'd get message/chat notifications only on the fb messenger app and not on the fb app itself. Now I get message/chat notifications for both. I've tried going to the fb app notification settings and I checking "messages" and it says "changes saved", but I still get the red circle notification for the fb app.

Also just to be clear, I DON'T WANT TO COMPLETELY TURN OFF NOTIFICATIONS FOR THE FACEBOOK APP, JUST CHAT NOTIFICATIONS. (Like it was on my 4s)

I think if you go to your setting on your phone, there should be a section for notification and you can change it over there. (thats my guess im not sure about the new iphones)
