How much info can college's see via facebook?
Hiya everyone,
So I applied at my local college for a Justice Studies Program, although I do meet my requirements regarding having a clear criminal record, there is one problem.

I was informed today that they have people assigned specifically to read and analyze your social networking sites, (Facebook in particular). I have posted in the past regarding wanting to write to the serial killer Richard Ramirez, which is a definite thing they would completely disregard my application over. (Nobody in the program can have any contact with inmates).

So my question is, if I go back and delete every one of those posts that indicate that I have an interest and fascination with Serial Killers and true crime, will they be able to see them somehow?
And how thorough are these searches? Are they literally capable of somehow accessing my page, (although everything is set to private), and see everything?

Thanks in advance for ANY answers at all! I'm freaking out here!

The posts you make are never truly deleted, they are just hidden. The school is going to mainly just look through your feed, if they actually do. With the number of applications colleges receive, they aren't going to do much digging on each person. They have no way to dig into Facebook's database to find posts that have been deleted/hidden.
