Do you believe that social media sites are ruining our generation?
When I tell people I do not have Facebook account, they look at me as if I am an alien. I think Facebook is wrecking young adults social skills.People claim the have 1000 friends but in reality they only have seven.

Is yours really a generation that would let a website ruin it?

I believe you are right, I have said it myself many times to my family.
I see a generation of young people in Facebook that will have no social skills in the future as their social skills are next to none now. Their only desire is to seek attention and to to show their friends how much they have fun, how vulgar their language is, and how drunk they can get and how hard they party. I have a Facebook account but am never on, it just saddens me.. I intent to close it, |

Yes. Too much authority has been given to them, and there are too many of them. With professional contacts and in business, you are now no one if you're not there. If there were one or two that really worked well and didn't have abusive terms and conditions, it might be okay if they *added to* people's lives and efforts. Now, professional people can close the door, program in their laundry list of job requirements, and ignore 99% of job applicants, thinking they can just let the computer select their new hires for them. And everyone else can just go to hell. And then they complain that they can't find qualified applicants for the jobs, and keep relisting the job ads.

I don't use it either. I value what's left of my privacy too much and it seems to serve no useful purpose.

Agreed, and the fact that they are a waste of time.
