Why would someone block someone on FB? How do you know?

I'm pretty confident that one of my former friends blocked me via Facebook because she doesn't come up anymore and my other friend can still see her on his profile. To be honest I think blocking is extreme. I was mad at her because she hasn't really talked to me and she would constantly make excuses for not hanging out. I was I'm college and she was in high school. She'd make excuses that she was busy. I finally texted her and said that was inexcusable in a few sentences in a nice way when she didn't respond I saw she was on Facebook and told her she didn't have the decency to even text me back. She replied with like one sentence so I attempted to tell her off and she wouldn't reply. I even tried calling her 2 times. I just wanted to talk it out. She wouldn't. I feel like it wasn't nice, especially since my dad died a year ago and she would complain about meaningless things. She was the only friend that wasn't there for me and I deleted her after I sent that text on Facebook. Made no communication thereafter and she blocked me. I think that's just extreme and I'm very offended. I wasn't going to talk to her anyways I just wanted a sense of closure.

Sometimes *from experience*, blocking can be useful. It looks like she did block you because you can't see her anywhere on facebook but your friends can. I would move on and find someone better to hang out with
