Help?! I did something stupid on Facebook!?

My mom has been best friends with this lady who has three kids! I have a huge crush on the eldest and there is a bit of an age gap! He's in his twenties and I'm in my higher end of the teens! So I added him on my friend account and I deleted him shortly after because I thought my status updates annoyed him! Well I updated my status last night with firework pictures in it and he liked my status! However, we're not friends on the account! I want to re-add him.. So should I explain to him the scenario?? Or how do I approach this?
More info: previously I added him on my family account but deleted him because I wanted to add him on my friend account since they're two separate accounts (my family is very weird about my friends)

just add him and say nothing. if he asked why u deleted him or what happened, just say facebook deleted some of your friends out of your contact list because it had to reset your password. idk say something like tht.
