no its not.

look there are three types of economies
1.captalistic economy
2.socialistic(closed) economy
3.mixed economy.

1.in capitalistic economy every things depends on market conditions.like supply for any product depends on its demand.it is free market economy where one has freedon to choose.like what to produce when to produce ect.ex.usa.

2. in socialistic market everything is decided by the govenment.
there one has no freedom. the govt takes hold of every thing.ex.cuba

3.mixed economy is a combination of both socialistic and capitalistic economy.the govt takes over important sectors like defence, curency ect.and rest of them are handled by private sectors.
india is a mixed economy where government takes over defence, currency, foreign dep, railways ect.and the rest of them are managed by private sector. hope you got your answer

When you say social, do you mean socialist? A mixed economy has some combination of free markets, along with central planning. All countires have some mix of free markets along with government planning.

All economies are social in that they attempt to meet peoples needs and desires. Social market I assume you are using to describe the buying public (you and I). You can have capitalism, communism or socialism or any combination of the three. They will not all work the same but their attempt is to provide goods and services for people (the society). Therefore, to answer your question: Yes it can be if I understand your question correctly. But a "social market economy" is not necessarily a mixed economy.
