facebook search bar keeps track of searches regardless of deleting search history in activity log... help?

i deleted all my searches in the activity log... yet when i go to search for someone in the facebook search bar, the old searches still pop up as first options. is there not a way to truly delete search history?
example:
searched for joe brown
deleted the search in activity log
go to search bar and type "j" and joe brown is the first option bc of my previous (deleted) search
not sure if its relevant but the particular search im having issues with is a group, not a person. the page suggestion shows up above any persons name.
continuing with my earlier example: its a joe brown fan page... when i type "j" the fan page pops up above any of my friends whose names start with "j"
