Can you still be logged into facebook when your phone is turned off?

So if I was logged into facebook, and turned my phone off without logging off, would i still be on? I'm asking this because my girlfriend's phone isn't accepting calls. I thought her parents blocked me or something, but I had a friend call her but they couldn't get through either. And the messages I'm sending her on Kik are failing to send. But if she got her phone taken away then her parents would turn it off when they take it, sooo can you still be logged on facebook while the phone is off? I think that her account is just on suspension because it's not fully paid now.

Yeah, if you don't log out, a lot of times it will still show you as online. I'd often just turn my phone off without logging out, then see on a friend's phone or computer that I was indeed still online even though I was standing next to them with my phone off, clearly not on. Facebook is funny like that.
