If you like and then unlike a comment on a picture on Facebook does the person get a notification?

I liked the comment and then unliked it a few seconds afterwards. Would it still give that person a notification? I tried it once with my friends facebook comment and she said that she didn't get one but I'm not sure if that always is the case. And to make things worse i know this person but I'm not friends with him plz help!!!! I feel awful and embarrassed. Thanks!
