How can I stop Facebook from suggesting people I might know?

For starters, it never gets it right. It's trawls friends or friends of friends and suggests people I don't know from Adam. Second, I have added the people I want to add and for everyone else, I use the subscribe I follow features.

If I want to add someone I will ask them or their Facebook ID and add them myself, I don't need Facebook to start suggesting people.

How can i turn off this pathetic, redundant and unwanted feature and why is it even there in the first place.

I think so far there are no settings available for that.

Sorry, unfortunately there is nothing that can be done about that annoying unwanted feature. There's no settings to remove it.
