How to physically take a picture OF social media?
My photography assignment is to actually take a picture of social media. Not to promote anything, just to take a picture of it in its workings. I have no clue what to do! Any help or ideas?

I would do a collage or several different phtos. Some of the would be shots of people texting on phoes and over he shoulder shots of people on at their computer/laptops on face book and my space. Use a fairly diverse crowd of people engaging each other socially with a wide variety of technology in different circumstances. just my 2cents.

If it were me, I'd go to a Starbucks or some gathering place and photograph the dichotomy of social media being used INSTEAD OF socializing with others who are present. Example: I can be out to dinner with my daughter, but she keeps using her smart phone to respond to alerts (twitter or facebook) instead of talking to me. Another Example: I was out to lunch with a group, half of whom were glued to their smart phones rather than engaging in conversation with the folks who are right THERE!
