No, yahoo answers is just for questions and answers. Facebook is for interacting with friends. Even though i use yahoo answers i strongly dislike it because everything gets unfairly reported and you get points taken for no reason.

they are completely different websites, with completely different purposes for using them

it's like saying apples are becoming more popular than oranges - it's just an opinion and you cant really compare the two

Don't be dumb. They're two different websites with different purposes. Yahoo Answers is to ask and answer questions, whereas Facebook is to interact with your friends and family. You can't compare the two.
But to answer your question, irrespective of their purpose of use, Facebook is definitely more popular.
