you move to the top right corner of the text or image you want to remove from your "timeline" or profile (it appears to look like a pencil) then click report/remove.

Find the comment you want to delete on your friend's wall.
Click on the pen on the top right hand side of the comment box.
Choose the "Delete" option on the bottom of the drop-down menu.
When Facebook asks if you're sure you want to delete the comment, click "Yes."
