Can you Explaine what, the @reply ( i think i know what it does,..not sure), The Direct message, and the "trending topic is" ...anyone understand?

@reply is a message you send to someone through a tweet
a direct message is the same, but it's private
a trending topic is something A LOT of people talk about. usually stated with a # in front of it.
