Locked out of Facebook?

Locked out of Facebook?
I just got a Facebook a few days ago and on my first day i was trying to add friends. I sent about 300 friend requests, about 200 of which were accepted when i last checked. I started sending a few more and Facebook warned me about "abusing these features" but i was only trying to add friends. Soon enough, facebook "temporarily suspended" my account after they thought i was being hacked. Just to be safe, i changed my password immediately. I tried to log in again, but instead of seeing my wall, a page showed up that said i had been temporarily locked out. They asked my for a government ID, but i'm hesitant to send one in. Since it says "temporarily" locked out, i was wondering if i could get access again after a while without sending in my ID. On Facebook Help, it says two things: that the block could last a few hours or a few days, and it also says that i cannot get help with my account unless i send in an ID. This just made me more confused because these are two different things completely. I am completely unable to acces my account or to complete any security check of any kind. The only thing i can do is change my password. My friends have told me that i'm no longer listed as their friend and they cannot see my account. I'm very confused on what to do. Has anyone else had this problem before? should i send in my ID and if so, how long does it usually take for Facebook to give me back access? also will this ban be lifted if i don't send in my ID? I have no idea why i was even locked out...does anyone have any ideas?
Also, i did know everybody that i friended. Nobody that i know of blocked me or declined my friend request

Just knowing someone does not require them to accept your Friend request, and if they are Friends of Friends, they may have no idea who you are.
Three hundred requests in a few days is a huge red flag, as would be five people turning you down-- or clicking on the Do You Know So-and-So Outside of Facebook? button when they see your request-- a hundred of them is Defcon Five.
You can either send them the ID they require or start another FB page using a different email address, and pace yourself, nobody knows 300 people IRL that are actual friends to connect with in just a few days.
