Like say, if you're a musician/songwriter for example - Is it arrogant to start your own facebook page on this?

No, that's the reason facebook let's you create page. I do understand what you mean though and well, while some pages on facebook are fan pages a large majority is created by the person the page is about

No, if you're well known around or are a decent singer, you aren't looked at as arrogant. However, if you suck at singing, I suggest not making a Facebook page, as people will think you're annoying. Big Grin
