Create a new Facebook using same email as old deactivated Facebook?

Okay, so I'm planning on deactivating my Facebook account to make a new account instead. But I was wondering if I can use the same email as the one I'm about to deactivate?

1)Deactivate your current account

2)Create a new one(you can use the same email but you have to deactivate your current facebook account)

I know maybe those ^ steps were kinda weird and lame but anyway you can use the same email.
