Can my friends see when I post in an open group on Facebook?

Like, will it appear on their newsfeeds?

I joined my college's gay students Facebook group and I want to post in it.


But my future roommate is on my friends list and I don't want her to know I'm gay.

So will people see on my newsfeed?

Your posts in open groups will appear in your friends newsfeeds. I am not sure if they will appear on your profile/wall.

But according to the link below. A lot of people are complaining about the Facebook Privacy issues surrounding both Open and Closed groups.

I personally stopped using Facebook a long time ago because of the many privacy issues. Google+ is a much more organized, feature-rich, and secure platform for sharing and networking.

no unless she goes diggin in the site for OPEN gay facebook groups. OPEN groups means anyone can join. but its not easy to find. if she is a part of that group she will know. but then it really wouldnt be a concern any longer.
p.s. its a new day in the us for some states people are more accepting. so be brave. everything will be ok.
