What is all with this DNS Changer malware stuff?

Well, i saw a post on twitter or something like.... here let me show you. "so at 12 midnight, peoples internet WILL shutdown. Be sure to check you computers to make sure you're not infected with the DNS Malware that was identified in November 2011. Apparently there will be a change to the redirect that was put in place to protect further spreading of the virus on July 9, 2012. More info from the FBI about this in the link. Click it, and if it says DNS= GREEN, your internet is ok, if its RED, then your screwed, haha jk. " Then there was a like that was like, http://www.slate.com/blogs/trending/2012...today.html so im really confused, can someone please tell me what is going on? is it like spam or something? should i click it?

Some hacker or group said they'd shut down the Internet on Monday, few years ago with a DNS virus which was identified and taken care of. Not many people still had the virus so it doesn't really matter.
