How to stop recieving notifications of activity from one particular friend (Facebook)?
I'm trying to figure out how to stop receiving notifications of activity from just ONE particular friend I have on facebook. I don't want to unfriend or block her, but the girl literally shares HUNDREDS of photos a day of flowers and puppies and rainbows, etc., and I'm absolutely at my wits end with it. I managed to get her posts to stop appearing on the feed itself, but I still get the notifications. ("Jane Doe Shared 'Pretty Flowers' Photo".) Every time I log onto facebook, I'll have up to 50 or more notifications just from her.
Is there a way to stop receiving notifications altogether from just one friend without unfriending them? Thanks! I unchecked "get notifications", AND changed her over to my "acquaintances" list instead of my "close friends" list. Hopefully that'll do the trick! I can't help but wonder if she's got some program that automatically shares photos without her actually needing to sit there and do it herself. I just find it amazing the amount of time she seems to spend online and the sheer NUMBER of photos she shares. (I'm not kidding when I say it's HUNDREDS of photos a day! Just since I asked this question I got four more from her.) I'm almost afraid to ask her if she's doing it on purpose, because she's actually a friend of my Mom's, and I don't want to offend her by asking, "Are you sharing all of these photos ON PURPOSE?" Go on to her profile and in a white box near her cover pic it should say 'Friends'. Hover over this (if nothing appears click it) and then it should show a list. Part of this list should say 'Get notifications' and have a tick next to it. Click on this and it will untick, then you should stop getting so many notifications.

You've probably added her to yr favourites, go to your profile, click on your friends and see if there's yellow star next to her name, if not then try hovering your cursor over the 'friends' button and where it says 'get notifications' and 'show in news feed' untick them.

You must have that girl in your favourites list. Go to her profile and see if there is a yellow star beside the tab ''friends''. Just change it to acquaintances.

When I was clicking on some classmates thing, it ended up 'enrolling' my Facebook account in some thing where they share pics & stuff from others who were in my . Luckily it's only occasionally but the woman might have done the same thing and is either unaware that it's 'sharing' or doesn't know how to get it to stop.
I have a contact/relative who I mostly get along with via Facebook but he is addicted to it and since he is classified as disabled, he stays at home and posts stuff all day...B/c of that and the fact that I have a lot of Xian relative contacts on my page, I only go every once in a while since some of them feel the need to post some 'I love Jesus' BS every day or two. Grrr. |
