I don't like this new facebook homepage. How do I get the most recent one (before this new one) back?

when facebook (or any other website) makes a change, you dont have the option of "going back to the old one"

you will eventually get used to it

Unfortunately, that is a question that I, and many others, have been asking since they changed it from the layout they had when I first signed up which was fantastic. Functional and to the point.

With every new change there are people who hate it. I even have a screenshot of an official poll from when they made a HUGE change some years ago and actually gave us the option to use the old one until they rolled it out permanently. The result was about 85% hate and 15% like. Sadly, the 15% won that one. Facebook wanted it so we got it, end of.

To give them their dues, there were a few tweaks that made it usable again, however little by little they rolled out new things.

With the new look it was sprung on us, no choice except for the "if you don't like it then leave" choice... however with so many of us investing time and sometimes real money into games that are hosted exclusively on that site and with some companies (one emailed me the other day) saying that the only way to use their site now is through Facebook (it's a monthly draw for a helicopter flying company), we are almost held hostage to the site, or at least feel that way once we enter the web/trap that it is.

Just step away from the layout for a second though and check the new privacy settings and rules about the fact that they own any photo that you put up there and things like that.

In the same way that there are no ways to change those terms and conditions, alas, there is no way to change the layout. I guess think that if your favourite character on a show was killed off and replaced by a new one, you could not ask for the old one back.... you either get used to it or tune out.

Unfortunately we do all know that as SOON as you get used to a new layout on Facebook and accept it after all, it changes again. I used to say new facebook then new new facebook then new new new.... I have now lost count of how many "new"s to preface it with.

Sorry that this does not resolve your question (alas, there is no resolution) but I hope it gives you some comfort that you are not alone in your frustration and that you can now be prepared for the next change which I am sure will be before the New Year.
