can you edit your history by year section on facebook?

If you add life events like new jobs or relationships to facebook, can you remove them if they don't work out? If its possible, how? Can you delete the original post on the timeline? I know you can edit your relationship status and work history under "about me" but that doesn't affect what shows up in that history by year section. I have a couple things that I'd like to remove and so do a couple of my friends. Not a huge deal, if I'm stuck with them, then so be it. But I swear I've seen people remove things from there, so I'm just curious.

yes, that's possible - use your activity log to find the life event and hide or delete it there
