Can your phone automatically at random times say you accessed Facebook on Facebook mobile?

My girlfriend said that her phone randomly logs into Facebook mobile where it says "last seen at time" that her phone does it randomly throughout the day and sometimes late hours of the night. I want to confirm if this is a problem that has occurred before or if she is lying?

If someones signed and is active on fb, then it will show that they are online. Once you close fb, it will show that person not active for however long it maybe until they open it back up. Shes most likely lying to you. Youre phone just doesnt sign you in and out without you phyisically doing it yourself. Maybe you could answer mine.
