is it possible to play facebook games off facebook, like a phone app etc?

noticed friends who are deactivated on my friends list still active and progressing on Candy Crush, display pic visible with scores whereas blank grey pic and deactivated on friends list, how does that work? maybe there is a way to play off facebook like from a phone app? pretty sure they haven't blocked me, otherwise they'd not even be visible as deactivated on my friends list. Just wondering...

Well there's a candy crush saga app for apple devices and google plus.So they can play away from facebook. But they'll still need facebook to unlock levels though, otherwise they have to buy them.
