Is it possible to change the event date of a facebook event in this situation?

I organised a facebook event but the date will not be appropriate any more. I don't know when a good time for the even to happen will be so I tried to edit it to not have a date but somehow it made the date in 2002. Because that date has already passed I can't change it now so is there any way around this situation without just making another event?
