Can anyone explain to me what exactly a "timeline" is in Facebook?

Hi. I joined FB a while ago, and I've been away from it for a while. This time I come back I find the word "timeline" and I haven't a clue as to what it means and what use it has in FB.

Timeline is basically a new way that people look at your posts and statuses, replacing the old format and you chose a cover photo, but trust me keep the old format, I'ts better.

even the term timeline is no longer applicable to facebook - they changed their format AGAIN and it's not really a timeline anymore

so you must be reading some really old websites

your timeline shows all your updates, Likes, and any wall posts posted , it, from the timeline you can also delete any of the unwanted post it will say "remove from timeline" in short it keeps records of you
