Someone made a fake facebook account of me?!?

Ok so this morning i logged into my facebook account. And after sometime a got this friend request. With the same name as me. Though the profile picture was of some actress. But i got really scared. Because the person didn't have any friends. And the account was made an hour ago. And i was the first person who got this request. And i'm sure that its not a real person. Because there is no one in my college or in my old school or in my relatives with the same name as me. I mean first and last names. I'm really scared. I want the account to be deleted. I reported it to facebook but it says its gonna take 48hrs to report it. I'm really scared what should i do? I did not accept or delete the request. Help!

Its probably someone screwing with you. I've seen many fake accounts of myself, its creepy but there's not much you can do but let Facebook do its job.

you should be flattered, mimicry is the most sincere form of flattery. But this could pose a serious threat to your national security, i suggest contacting your nearest local FBI agency immediately. This is identity theft and should not be taken lightly, do not accept the request

the only thing you can do is report it - you cant find out who is doing it or anything

just report it and be able to prove that you are the real person

I have had a fake person, some girl, send friend requests to my friends and me. It was the same kind of account, recently opened, etc. I accepted and later discovered it was bogus. So, I unfriended her and went to my privacy settings and blocked her.

First of all, take the url of that account and send to almost your trusted friends and tell them to report this account and then you too report this account. I think this will help you.

Don't worry. FB will take required action and will delete that account in 48hrs. And hopefully nothing goes wrong in this 48hrs.

Since anyway u have intimated this to FB, if something unlegal happenings happened with that account account, u will not be blamed for that.
