Can you give examples of what social mores and lifestyles are promoted and encouraged by media?

Yes. Here is one example:

Partly as a result of your webcast, your high school principal loses his job, and is replaced by two co-principals who are the meanest teachers in your school. The new co-principals impose stricter rules on the students including a uniform dress code. Then, you conspire with all your classmates to stage a boisterous riot in school just before your previous principal comes back to collect his final pay check while the superintendent of the school district is visiting the school to see how the new principals are doing. Shocked at the riot, the old principal re-establishes discipline and sends all the rioting kids back to class. Seeing that the new principals are ineffective and that the old one is still respected by the students, the superintendent gives his job back.
Oh, and the good principal used to be a Vulcan.

Is that the one you were thinking about?

I think that the producers and actors and people in "Hollywood" want to promote their lifestyles as "ok". So, they reflect that in saying "Yeah, a rich gay jewish bald guy with a hot white guy is a GREAT idea for a comedy."
