there is no way to disable that

facebook is a social networking site

that's how it works - if you arent trying to be social, then perhaps you should rethink why you are using it

Click on arrow right side of Home. From drop down menu click on account settings. Cross to left side of page and click on Notifications, scroll down menu and click on “f other updates from facebook”, uncheck People you may know on facebook and your done, just remember to save changes.

You dont want to see the box suggesting people, or you dont want others to see you in the box?

If you dont want others to see your information in that box, you need to modify your privacy settings to who can add you as a friend - I believe you can choose everyone, friends of friends, only people you add or no one.
