Would it be better to go with Ipod Touch 5th generation or Iphone 5 for what I need it for?
I have found myself back in the market for a new device from apple, whether it be Touch 5th gen or Iphone 5 will be determined with what you think too.

On my old device (Iphone 3gs), I used to use notes to set reminders, calender to book events in, safari to surf the web, Ipod to listen to my music collection and watch videos and calculator to add things up instantly when I needed to. The thing I used the most was the camera, as a student, the camera saved 30 minutes of writing with one press of a button.

In my old device, I almost never used the phone and still to this day do not use it that often as I keep in contact over social networking sites like Facebook. I almost never played games on my phone, I felt as if it was a waste of space, but I am open to some ideas for games on my new device like Angry Birds. I think the thing I used the least was the video recording because the files were huge on 3gs when I downloaded an app to record video and it was even more difficult to transfer and had terrible sound.

The things I would use my new device for primarily would be to take pictures and record video, pictures and videos were one of the most important, I want to be able to take a picture of a whiteboard and get the best picture to refer to later when in class, notes to set reminders, Facetime I feel would be one of my favourite features, calender to book events going on, calculator so I can add up when I need to, some apps, but most important would be my music and video since It was the number 1 use I had my old one for.

So the question I ask you is what one should I go with? both have basically the same features, I was wondering if it is worth paying more, here in Australia, Iphones are normally $400 more than the Ipod touch of the same amount of gb, so is it worth buying an Iphone for what I want to use it for or is it better for me to buy an Ipod touch for everything I need?

What would you choose in my position and why?

Your long questions boils down to do you require internet access anywhere, anytime or not? if you do then you need the iPhone and a data plan with it. The iPhone will connect over the phone network from virtually anywhere. The iTouch will connect only where you have access to wifi through a router. The rest of the items you list are equivalent between the two devices.

I would say the iPhone just because it has everything the iPod touch has and more. There may not be things you use a lot but you never know when you are going to need them. Plus everything about the iPhone 5 is better then the iPod touch. Hope I helped Smile

Ipod Touch is the Iphone 4s with a slightly larger screen. perhaps you are better off going with Iphone 4s since they will be going for cheap, have the A5 processor (the one in the new touch), slightly smaller screen but as apple pointed out, many apps are made for 3.5 inch screen and not 4 inch, the level of detail in the 4s is great, and it is only beat by the iphone 5. Iphone 4s is the new ipod touch with a slightly smaller screen and a phone built in, slightly heavier too, but around the same price as Ipod Touch.
