My number was used to verify another facebook account?

I had a facebook that I used my number to verify and I had that fb for a while but then I removed my number from my facebook then deleted it and made a new facebook and I tried using my number to verify my new account but its saying "This number was used to verify another facebook account" I've been trying to verify my number for a couple months now but it keeps saying the same thing.

Your number is still connected to your old facebook account

What you can do is go back on your old facebook, connect it to a email instead of your phone number, then you should be able connect your number to a new facebook account
