Giving a fake birth date when signing up for Facebook?

I dontwant to give my real birthday because that can be dangerous with things like
Identity theft. But I also don't want people
To think that's my real birthday. Anyway I can not show this info? Are there settings for this? I know I have to give a birth date when signing up but obviously I dont want to give my real one. Any solutions?

Just put up the real date and month but put a fake year

Change your setting as explained here :

To change who can see your birthday:

Go to your timeline and click Update Info under your cover photo
Find the Basic Information section and click Edit
Click next to your birthday to choose who can see it
You can also choose if you want to show your full birthday, just the month and day, or not at all from the dropdown.
Click Save

It won't be too dangerous to giveout your birth date just fake the year and then hide it. That would be safe and doesnt involved any misunderstanding

Using a fake birthday is such a common event on Facebook, I am not sure what the issue is here. I think most Facebook users take it for granted that many other users have fake birthdays posted, and do not give it a thought.
