Have these people blocked me or deleted their profile?

I have people on my friends list who's profile picture has reverted to the default silhouette, and when i click them it just loads my own profile. But some of them are friends who I can't imagine have blocked me. And if they did I don't know why they wouldn't block me without also deleting me so it doesn't make sense. Does this mean they've deactivated? Because they still appear in my friends list.

if they are still in your friends list, they havent blocked you, because when someone blocks you, you are both removed from each other's friends list

so....

they either deactivated their profile, or facebook suspended their profile without their consent for breaking some rule, like lying about their age or name, or creating more than one account, or bullying/spamming/trolling (this includes advertising a facebook page they created inappropriately)

If they're still in your "Friends" list, they most likely deactivated their profiles. They wouldn't be on your list if they blocked you.
