should i tell my online friend i'm fake?

I'm going to summarize the story. When i was 15 i made a fake profile account and met a guy on which we would message each other for around almost 2 years daily. Since then i decided to let go on which we haven't spoken around 8 months now although he recently texted me back. Should i tell him i'm fake and explain to him why or should i just let it go? ( I really liked him and cared it was just a shame i had to do it this way to meet him) Please don't lecture me as i know what i did was wrong.
