It sounds dumb I know, but I'm afraid to post pictures of myself or statuses because I'm afraid nobody will 'like' them and I'll just look like a looser. I see people with like 50 likes and it makes me feel awkward. How do I get over this? I dont really have that many friends and its kinda embarrassing to see how others would get like hundreds of likes and comments on a picture and I sometimes couldn't just get one like or a comment. Any advice

You shouldn't post stuff because you want people to like it, you should post stuff just because it's what you want to share with your friends.

Popularity is hugely overrated, don't worry if people don't like it, you posted it, it's there to be seen and/or read.

I know what you mean but just post whatever comes up in your head. Who cares what people think. Just make sure that whatever you put is talking about the true you and not what you think others will want to see.

if you are worried about people liking the things you post, then you probably shouldnt be using facebook in the first place - it doesnt matter if people click on like or not - not everyone who sees it is going to click on like, and getting lots of likes doesnt actually make you popular or anything

Just add people and make sure your pictures or status grabs people attention, and I promise you your going to get more likes.

There really is no way to get over it. I post stuff on Facebook and no one notices. someone else shares my link and suddenly it has 900+ likes. and this has happened more than once.

all because he shared it. Oh yea and i should mention, we sometimes share 30+ friends and STILL no one likes it till someone else picks it up.

As for as your status goes. I would keep being careful what you post on there. You don't want some employer to ask you about things 10+ years from now.
