How do you keep someone as friends on FaceBook, but unfollow their posts?

I have some friends on FaceBook who constantly update and I don't want to hear it in my notifications. I'm on the verge of unfriending them but would rather not. Why do people do this? Don't they know they have no life and the more they update the more they play themselves out???

Go to their profile and click "don't show in newsfeed". Turn off notifications in your settings.
I know exactly what you mean, people seems to think there's no life out of facebook. I think there is more to life than it.

Click on the notifications button, then Hover ur mouse pointer to the right top corner of the notification you want to unfollow, a CROSS sign will appear, click on that, and oyu will receive no more notification regarding that post anymore
