facebook is acting weird just for chrome?

not sure what happened but facebook won't load messages or the chat bar (the entire right side of the screen) on chrome. if i click a picture it won't let me see the next/previous picture unless i specifically click on it. i can't access messages on top by the notification icon nor can i view friend requests. if i search a person no suggestions come up. my computer also acted a bit weirdly before facebook stopped working, the screen contrast got really bright. however it only malfunctions on chrome on this specific computer. chat works fine on explorer and chrome on other computers, as well as my iphone. how can i fix this?

check if there is any extensions installed on your chrome and remove it
if that didn't work
just scan your computer it might be a trojan ( virus )
if that didn't work too
just restore your computer to a date when everything was fine
