What is the point of deactivating facebook?
Is it not just easier to log out of facebook and not go on it?

Some people think of facebook even if they are logged out, so they prefer to deactivate it

The reason for deactivating Facebook as far as I can see is so that your information is no longer on the internet. You can set up your profile settings to be more privatised but some people are uncomfortable with having personal information readily available on the internet and in another companies hands.

Deactivating for the purpose of not speaking to someone however is not the way. With new settings available now for blocking people to fight cyber bullying you can hide your details from a particular person, so in that sense there is no need to deactivate your account.

There are so many reasons to deactivate a Facebook account. One of the obvious reason is hiding. By deactivating your account, your account can no longer be seen or searched by anybody in the internet. This will come in handy if your account is full of immature crap and you're looking for a job. It's handy because employers tend to look into the online lives of their applicants and facebook is most likely the 2nd thing they'd search for about you(next to actually just Googling you). Logging out would be a very different case because your account would still be visible. Hope this helps

Make all posts so only friends can view it and then for your information side of your profile, just make it all true and personal, thats better than just deleting it as many employers like the fact that their employees have a life outside of work and facebook photos and stuff like that is an ideal way to portray that.

I'm a businessman and I'd rather have an employee who's made a few mistakes but learnt from them and has a life outside of work. People that 'hide' that they have/had a facebook account are generally considered bad people to employ.
If an employer asks you "do you have a facebook account?" you should say yes, a 'no' would suggest you have lots to hide.

I also have a favourite question to ask ... "If you heard the noise of a zombie in the corridor, what would you do?"

I would like you to know there are many many reasons why people deactivate their Facebook accounts.... I can go on all day long to list them out.... A few of them is if they are serious students and they have an upcoming exam they won't be tempted to check if their mates messaged them or if they got friend requests etc etc cause they can't receive friend requests or messages cause their facebook is not active.
