We broke up about 3 years ago and talked a little (on and off) since then, but lost contact about a year ago. Just a few days ago out of the blue he messaged me saying he hopes i'm okay and if he can add me back. Seems a bit random to be honest. Should i add him back to Facebook?

If you are comfortable with doing so, then definitely! It is great that he wants to communicate again. Obviously I do not know a thing about your relationship, but it is nice that he is thinking of you ?!

I suppose if you parted on civil terms, it should be alright. Just play it cool and don't make too much of it.

You must have broken up for a reason! Think about that before you make any decisions- has that reason changed? If you really do want to be with him after you've considered this, don't wait for it to happen, do something about it.
