How do I edit what appears on the main page of my timeline on Facebook?

I want to hide my relationship status from the about box that appears in the top left corner of my timeline. I'm okay with keeping it on my about page. I just don't want everyone who looks at my basic page to see it.

if you hide it in one place, you hide it in all places

use the audience selector to select who can see it

edit profile and select the feild..then change the privacy setting to only me.. hope it helps
