Considering deleting my Facebook?
I've been thinking about deleting my Facebook. It just seems like more of a liability and distraction and I think it would clear up time if I got rid of it. The only catch is that I'm going away to college and I don't want to lose touch with my old friends, and it can be useful for sharing links and stuff. I guess what I'm asking is from a neutral point of view, what do you think about the whole idea? Thanks!

It's a fine idea if you think deleting is right for you! I'm deactivated at the moment and also considering deletion. Whatever you decide, you can exchange contact information, such as email addresses and phone numbers, with those you definitely want to keep in touch with. Email works just fine for sharing links. You could find somewhere else to share them too, if you'd like.

Facebook is only a distraction if you allow it to be. It's a great way to keep in touch with family and friends, but you need to limit your time on it. Set a schedule for yourself to check it in the morning, then again at night or late afternoon. This way, you can keep current while still enjoying your real life. Just let your friends know that you are setting this limit and they should be OK with it. Tell them that if there is something that is important, they should call or text you.
