Why do people use # when posting comments on Facebook and other social media network?
It annoys me seeing comments on pictures or If someone writes a comment about something and then uses # for other words. For example: "having an awesome holiday" #sun #beach #fun
What does this rubbish mean? Ads |

They're idiots who think they're being cool by pretending they're on twitter.

It's a hash tag meaning they are tagging people or names in their post used a lot on Instagram and twitter, on Instagram you can actually search for a key word and the hash tag someone posted will pull up their picture !

Its called a hashtag, and generally used as a way of linking a post or comment to an overarching category.
by searching for said hashtags you can find other posts using that tag that hopefully will be relevent. the reason the # is used is because its a character that scarcly shows up outside this purpose in modern social networking. |

It's called a hashtag. They started on twitter, but now even Facebook recognizes them now.
They are used to show a particular thought or feeling associated with the post, like the main idea. |
