How do I build traffic to my social media site without spamming?
I have a social media site that has over 20 million members we purchased from 3 investors. The old site was shut down for 2 years. If we email our members, we could be considered spammers. How can we build the traffic to our site, while we gradually email our old membership base?

Well depending on which email system you used, you may be able to email the old members explaining that the site is now under new management, and then simply have them click a confirmation link to be added to your new mailing list. I know autoresponders like Aweber have this feature.
And as far as building new member traffic, I would suggest that you go to similar sites like yours and expose your site in a tactful ways to those members. People tend to flock to new sites if it's similar to sites they already like but yet has something unique to offer. Ads |

You could try sending an email announcing updates/modifications to your website, it should be fine if its about stuff like the ToS, or privacy policy.
To build the traffic you can simply buy web traffic. |
