Facebook notifies me on my phone while I'm on facebook at my computer?

I have a galaxy note 2. It is very annoying that I get notifications on my phone while I am using facebook on my computer. Is there any way to fix this besides going into the app and turning off notifications all together? Thanks

It depends on what "sees" the notification first really. The only way to stop that from happening is if you click the notifications menu on Facebook for your PC *before* your phone receives the notification.

The phone will then recognise the fact that the notification has already been read, and doesn't need to alert you that you have a notification waiting.

Apart from doing that, the only other way is to uncheck the notifications box in the application settings.

You should be able to fix it by going to your account settings on facebook. Then click on notifications then click on edit for text message then you should be able to change it.
