I have just gone to contact a friend of mine and have go the following message:

There is also a picture of a bandaged thumb.
However their photo still appears in the list. What does this mean please?

Facebooks most likely do be having a moment, or that persons Facebook could of been removed by Facebook for inappropriate content etc, or your friend may have deactivated her account. ask your friend to check his/her Facebook and try again later if she's not deactivated it or if its not been removed, if your still having problems tomorrow contact Facebook, but I doubt you will these things are usually sorted quickly as Facebook is a large service and has hundreds of employees to check errors all day and night.
