Why can't I see the replies to someone's tweets on twitter?

When you logged in your twitter account. there is @Connect section available on the top of your profile next to Home button click on that and then click on mentions. there you'll be able to see all the replies and tweet conversation.

There is a strange thing i notices which i can't understand. .... Since no one can see my replies to someone's tweet, I don't know what the point is in even having ...
