how to add people on facebook when there is no button?

there is someone i know who lives in germany, we have no mutual friends, i can not add her because there is no button, and she can not add me because she can not see a button.

is there any other way of getting round this loop hole? i know she can not add me because i was round in germany at her house when she tried to add me :|

there is no way around it - if the person has their account set up like that, you HAVE TO have mutual friends in order to add them as a friend
