If I delete a private message on Facebook before the recipient sees it, is it also removed from his inbox?

I messaged my ex boyfriend but after I sent it, I regretted it.
So I deleted it from my inbox before he saw it.
Will he still get it?

Yes he will still get it. It's like sending a text, just because you deleted it doesn't mean the other person is not going to receive it

Sorry but yes he will see it, once you send the message it is already sent to his inbox regardless whether you deleted it afterwards.

Unfortunately, once you hit the send button, there is no way to delete it unless he deletes it himself, you steal his phone and delete it, or you trick him into deleting it.

If you really regret it, I think you should tell him that your friends were just joking around and accidentally hit send and that it wasn't real (whatever you sent)
